Students will create designs based on patterns of geometric shape by using simple drawing techniques and tools.
Shapes can enlarge and go off the edge. Shapes can overlap and shrink. The student chooses ONE COLOR to create the study: RED, BLUE, GREEN or PURPLE. The main goal of the assignment is to mix white and black with the paint to create TINTS and SHADES of the one color selected for the assignment. Pure BLACK, WHITE (the white of the paper)and GRAY can also be part of the design. As always; "Museum Quality" artworks or "Wall Ready" artworks are what we're looking for. |
Tints / Shades
Students add Black to their choice color to create SHADES or they use less paint and have the white of the surface material come through (TINT).
|
Overlap Shapes
Have different parts of shapes overlap and use different tints and shades in those areas
|
Black, White & Gray
Black, White and Gray can be added to the painting.
